Jiles

Jiles reached out to me wanting to do some portrait work for his album art. His only requirements were that it be real and honest, this is everything I want my photography to be so we clicked instantly. His music reflects his upbringing and lifestyle a lot of which I automatically related to, so we speak the same language. Shooting in his yard with a single mattress on the floor we managed to create something truly timeless. 

Technical Specs: 

35mm Shots were captured with a Canon AE1 55mm 1.2 Lens & 35mm F2 concave lens. Film used Kodak Tri-X 400 (shot at 400)

Medium Format were captured by my personal favorite my Rolleiflex 2.8C. Film used Kodak Tri-X 400 (shot at 400) a few frames were shot on some Ilford Pan 50 film I had from a previous shoot. 

Motion film was captured with my Bolex H16 using the Switar 25mm 1.4 lens. Shot on Kodak Plus-X film at about 25ISO.

All film was developed in Kodak Xtol at 1:1

I usually scan my work with a Kodak HR500 but on this occasion the scanner’s Hard Drive became corrupted. Tucked away for years now is my Canoscan 9000F which stepped up to the plate and performed like new (shoutouts to Canon).
